tiscali

Q. What internal records do tiscali keep of correspondence
A. You might expect a large company such as tiscali to keep accurate records of letters and phone calls received and made.

However this does not appear to be the case, we wrote to tiscali  four times and had two replies.  When we spoke to them on the phone we were told initially that there was no record of any letters having been received.  Neither was there a record of tiscali having written to us.

Later the  tiscali staff member changed their mind when presented with a tiscali reference number, and agreed one letter had been received.

I am tempted to think tiscali  were deliberately lying, but the only other alternative is that tiscali fail to keep or update their in house records that staff rely on when dealing with the public.

The  tiscali response:

I have now had a letter back from the 'Customer Management Team' at  tiscali , they advise me that

'accurate notes are left on customer's accounts with regard to any query they may have. Our customer services department have access to the same systems as us and they should have been able to advise you on this'

well from that I can only surmise that someone at tiscali , the management team or phone operators, are indeed lying.

A later letter from tiscali 's Niamh McAndrew to the elderly and recently bereaved widow said "I would like to offer my condolences...""I understand this is a stressful time for you..." , "I will be responsible for assisting you with your issue until it is confirmed resolved.", "Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused as a result of the issues you are experiencing" - yet by the date of that leter hehad closed teh account and cut off the phone!
