tiscali

Q. How do you alter a tiscali agreement when the holder is deceased?
A. You might expect a large company such as tiscali to have an effective and efficient means to deal with an account held by a recently deceased person.

They dont.  Whilst it could be argued that tiscali do have a procedure, in practice it is an absolute joke.

We contacted tiscali to move the account from my late father to mother.  We were advised that this could not be done without them having seen the death certificate - so far so good, and quite reasonable.

We sent the death certificate to tiscali, asking that it be returned;  and so it was, by recorded delivery - so far, still ok.

We rang tiscali to enquire about progress of the change of account holder and were advised that the death certificate had not been received!  When questioned, the excuse seemed to be that we sent an original and not a copy!

So, with a letter of disbelief, that tiscali staff had not photocopied the original we sent a photo copy and later rang to check progress. The tiscali staff member refused to speak to me as I was not the account holder and that I would need to send a death certificate!

How many copies of a death certificate do tiscali need before they realise that their requirements have been met?

The tiscali response:

'I can confirm that there was notes left on your father's account to advise that we had received the death certificate.'

Well, somebody is lying here.
